First Semester 2 Project announced: Mid-West Youth Skills Team
WA Justice Association is excited to announce our first project for Semester 2, 2021.
Our Mid-West Youth Skills Team will be undertaking the project topic: Mid-West Youth Skills Programme. This project is in partnership with Mid-West Service Providers, and is supervised by Lisa Kazalac (CEO & Founder – Professional Vogue).
The aim of this project is to develop a pilot programme to support young people who are vulnerable to becoming engaged in the criminal justice system in the Mid-West region of Western Australia.
The purpose of this project is to create an evidence base for future programmes which help young people in regional WA to gain and maintain employment which is vital to reducing offending. The final paper will establish a model for how an holistic on-site skills, training, education and support programme can be offered in collaboration with existing service providers.
The WAAMH Project Team is comprised of 5 students: Maria Ambrose (Team Leader), Isabelle Bavcevic, Jit Neo, Helena Trang and Charlotte Salom. The team will be mentored by Melanie Naylor. Melanie is an experienced litigator recently retired from the partnership of Tottle Partners, having worked primarily in the area of medical negligence and regulation.
Keep up to date with our social media for updates on the project teams, advocacy and outreach teams and our Raise the Age campaigning efforts.
